Why consider 1 on 1 Tutoring for the SAT and/ or ACT?
Because some students do better with personalized 1 on 1 instruction. And did I say that many students seem to do well with personal attention?
Other reasons 1 on 1 Tutoring might be preferred:
Students who have scores well below or well above the State or National SAT score averages (e.g.: 960 - 1030) might benefit from a tutoring module (as the Live SAT/ ACT Prep Course is designed to help “the average kid with an average SAT score”). If your student has an SAT score well above or well below the 960 - 1030 range, tutoring might make sense in your situation.
In many cases combining the Live SAT/ ACT Prep Course with a 4-hour individual tutoring module has proven to be a recipe for maximum score improvement in the shortest periods of time. See Product Page for details.
Regardless of your initial motivation and whether you decide to purchase a 1 on 1 Tutoring Module in conjunction with the Live SAT/ ACT Prep Course or as a “stand alone” purchase, or as a “follow on” purchase to try and bust through a sticking point regarding your student’s SAT or ACT score, 1 on 1 Tutoring is a great opportunity to leverage the strengths of the teacher on the weaknesses of the student. Significant results can be obtained in minimal amounts of time when we work with students 1 on 1.
A 1 on 1 Tutoring Module consists of two, 2-hour sessions of intense one on one training to diagnose and repair lagging areas in our test preparation process, refine, and simplify approaches to commonly appearing problems, and branch out into questions that we typically do not have time to cover in the Live SAT/ ACT Prep Course.
If you purchase a tutoring module as part of one of our Live SAT/ ACT Prep Course packages, note that the tutoring module will be conducted during the student’s second course experience. In this fashion we are able to troubleshoot existing concepts, and add on more material.
Students receive our proprietary Live SAT/ ACT Prep Course Syllabus, and membership in our Online SAT/ACT Prep University.
Multiple 1 on 1 Tutoring Modules may also be purchased at checkout by entering the desired quantity.
1 on 1 Tutoring is a “purchase of time,” and does not come with any type of guarantee or refund policy.
Tutoring modules are sold in 4-hour blocks of instruction. The cost is $500 for a 4-hour module. We recommend students schedule their two 2-hour sessions 1 week apart, and generally as close to the SAT as possible in most cases. The sessions are generally held throughout the week (after school). How to schedule your sessions?
Unless specified otherwise, tutoring sessions are conducted at either of the following locations:
1. Greater Columbia Area Students: the Lexington County Main Library: (5440 Augusta Highway Lexington SC 29072 . )
2. Greater Rock Hill/ Charlotte and Lancaster/ Kershaw Area Students: the Medford Library on the campus of USC Lancaster Library in Lancaster, SC. 476 Hubbard Dr. Lancaster SC 29720 Driving Directions Coming Soon)
You can realize significant savings by purchasing your tutoring module(s) with the Live SAT/ ACT Prep Course. See Packages.
You can save money when purchasing the 1 on 1 Tutoring Module with another product we offer, like the Live SAT/ ACT Prep Course. See Products page for packaging details.
Registration in the Online SAT/ACT Prep University is included in the cost of the 1 on 1 Tutoring Module, therefore you should not purchase a Tutoring Module, and access to the Online SAT/ACT Prep University.
